Welcome to the blind gardener blog. My name is Anatoliy and I am legally blind. Since my childhood, I’ve always liked gardening. Well, to be honest, not quite always, especially when we had to do it for living and surviving in Ukraine. Somehow those early development years have planted that seed in my heart for gardening and appreciation to plants and soil. I think that would be big thank you to my Mom, Dad and grandparents.
I am an IT professional, and gardening is really relaxing and enjoyable activity for me. Sometimes coming back home from work, getting a shovel, rake, sledge hammer or in some instances even a chainsaw, makes me sweat a lot, and I still call it “enjoyable.” It is really nice to get away from technology and connect with nature.
There so many different reasons why I garden: I want to grow better and tastier food, I want to consume more organic food, I want to stay away from GMO produce and I want my children to know where food comes from.
, Seeing all the plants how they grow, from start to end, flower, seed, make fruits and vegetables, is just amazing! Every time I am in garden, I always stop for a moment and think of our creator, who created all this bountiful world.
I hope that by reading this blog, you will find something helpful perhaps educational, or somewhat a bit interesting. Happy gardening!
